A Year of Leadership and Learning
Community connections shape Chief Executive Michael Keleman’s first year
We are pleased to recognize Michael Keleman’s first anniversary as chief executive for Providence St. Joseph Hospital and Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital. Michael is responsible for the hospitals’ operational effectiveness and performance, having taken over from interim chief executive, Ranjit Hundal, M.D.
“This past year has been incredibly enlightening,” Michael says. “Through countless conversations with our donors and supporters, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for what makes our community so special and the deep commitment our donors have to local health care, ensuring every member of our community has access to exceptional care close to home. Each person I’ve met has shared unique insights about our region’s health care needs and history, helping me better understand how we can serve Humboldt County today and in the years ahead.”
Before joining Providence, Michael served as chief operating officer for Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. In his previous role as chief strategy officer for Tenet Health Central Coast, Michael focused on developing an integrated network of services for two regional hospitals, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center and Twin Cities Community Hospital.
A member of the American College of Health Executives, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from UC Davis and a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Southern California.
Thank you for your leadership, Michael!
